Bringing home a Habibi Bear is a deeply personal and intuitive journey, designed to ensure the perfect match between puppy and family. Our unique adoption process goes beyond just choosing a puppy—it’s about connection, energy alignment, and lifelong companionship. From your initial application to bringing your puppy home, we guide you every step of the way, making the experience seamless, supportive, and truly special.

Match the Family to the Right Puppy
Through understanding our dogs, their differences, and our buyers and their desires, we can help align the perfect puppy with the perfect family. This has been the mark of our success for over three decades. If a puppy isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you.
what does a Puppy Cost?
To reserve your place on our waitlist, we require a $1,000 reservation fee, which is applied toward the adoption total. This is due after you review and sign our contract. Once on the waitlist, we’ll work with you to understand your preferences and help you find the perfect puppy. The remaining balance is due when you are officially matched with your puppy.
For those seeking first pick of the litter, we offer a priority upgrade for an additional $2,000 deposit. This option allows you to move to the top of the list for the next available litter, bypassing the standard waitlist. However, it does not allow you to move ahead of families already matched with a specific litter, and you must select from the designated season you are allotted.

HOW DOES SELECTION WORK?
We believe that the right puppy finds you. Instead of a rigid selection system, we take a relationship-first approach to matching families with their Habibi Bear. This is about more than just picking a puppy—it’s about discovering the one who naturally fits into your life, like they were meant to be there all along.
From the moment you join our waitlist, we start building a connection with you. This isn’t just a one-time chat—we stay in touch throughout the entire process, sharing insights, answering questions, and getting to know you. During this time, you’ll also go through The Human’s Guide to the Dog Galaxy, a program we created specifically for Habibi Bear families. It’s designed to help you truly understand your future dog, prepare for life together, and build confidence before your puppy even comes home.
The Matching Process
- You’ll join the waitlist for the season that works best for you, based on size and timing. Placement is based on when your deposit was placed and your contract was signed (whichever comes last).
- As your litter grows, we’ll be right there with you—sharing updates, guiding you through the puppy-raising journey, and helping you feel truly prepared and connected before your puppy even arrives.
- Around 4-5 weeks, when the puppies’ personalities start to shine, we begin matching. We carefully assess each pup and consider your family’s unique energy, lifestyle, and dreams for your future dog.
- Once we’ve narrowed it down to the best match (or a couple of great options), we’ll share our insights with you, walk you through the details, and make sure everything feels right.
- You’ll always have the final say—we will never place a puppy with you that you don’t feel drawn to.
- Since this is a puppy-led process, the right match often feels effortless—like it was always meant to be.
- If, for any reason, none of the available puppies feel like the right fit, we’ll work with you to explore options within the season you signed up for.
We don’t just send puppies home—we build lifelong relationships. By the time you meet your puppy in person, you’ll already feel like you know them. And that connection? It’s unlike anything else.

- We have two breeding seasons: Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter.
- Our waitlist operates on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the signing of your contract and receipt of your deposit (whichever comes last).
- Waitlists are organized by dog size and season, ensuring you’re placed in the best time for you.

Over the past 35 years, we’ve used genetically diverse lines to counteract inbreeding effects, significantly reducing the coefficient of inbreeding (COI). DNA testing helps us ensure optimal pairings for our dogs, improving their vitality and overall health.

We designed our breed with the program to support their new family so you can learn to guide your puppy without breaking them. This course on how to raise a puppy for you. It’s the ultimate puppy-raising program that will set you up for success as the best puppy parent!

We love watching our adorable Habibi Bear puppies grow and seeing their unique personalities emerge. Through our personalized puppy evaluation, we aim to find each puppy the perfect home where they will be loved and understood!
Health Guarantee
Our contract is designed to be simple, so you’ll know what to expect from us and what we hope you’ll do for your new puppy. When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll ask you to review and sign before placing a deposit.
Herbal dewormer
After trying both chemical and natural deworming products, we’ve opted to use natural dewormer. We have found it more effective as a dewormer, but also doesn’t have any of the negative side effects often seen from chemical dewormers.

We dock tails and remove dewclaws in accordance with breed standard. We’ve seen a lot of discussion over this and feel it is the right answer for our families, having a dog that is easier to manage and more likely to be taken everywhere with you!

Four-Week Montessori For Your Puppy!
At Habibi Bears we are here to serve our families and meet their individual needs. Our Puppy Charm School is the perfect fit for families who desire to have a head start to crate training and scheduling but feel the importance of being part of the Socialization Period with their puppy. We created this new program with your family’s needs in mind. We will get your puppy off to a wonderful start and into your loving arms within the Socialization Period so you can bond and imprint with your puppy!
4-week curriculum
What We Cover!
The first two weeks
Helping your puppy transition can be challenging, so our first two weeks are intensive. We follow developmental milestones, advancing every three days, so your puppy gets the support they need and is expertly guided and honored in the process.
Sticking to the schedule is essential to ensure your puppy continues progressing without regressing.

* We support puppies’ development step by step, observing their milestones and always moving at their pace. Following the Habibi Method Curriculum from the Human’s Guide to the Dog Galaxy Course, we make progress every three days. By the two-week mark, puppies begin to find their rhythm, but we keep moving forward to ensure they don’t regress.

The last two weeks puppy charm school
As the four-week program progresses, we begin to notice the puppies getting the hang of their routine. They’ve had the extra time to adapt and become accustomed to the process, which we understand can be a lot for them. We are also here to help them feel at ease with the crate, which we know can make a big difference when you bring your new furry friend home. Additionally, they’ve had more time to learn manners class and are making great strides with clicker training!
Carefully following our sequential process, we expand on each skill:

Deposit & Contract After connecting with Julie, we will send our contract agreement and info on submitting your deposit ($1,000). Once these items have been received, you will be added to the Master Reservation List.
Added to Waitlist
Added to WaitlistOnce you have placed your deposit, you will be added to the (Season) Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter and (Year) of your choice. Your position on the Waitlist is based on your placement on the Master Reservation List by deposit date.
Personalized Matching
Personalized MatchingWhen the puppies begin to show their personalities and Julie gains a clear understanding of each one, she will personally connect with each family on a a litter wait list to discuss their needs and explore which puppy is the best fit. This is a highly personalized and thoughtful process, ensuring that each puppy is matched to the right home based on energy, temperament, and lifestyle. Once you have been matched, we will plan how your puppy is joining your family, and time to finish up the Human’s Guide to the Dog Galaxy Course and set up puppy’s space!
Gotcha Day!
Yay, we made it! You are an official Habibi Bear parent! Delivery (if required) is scheduled on designated Gotcha Days; dates will be listed for each litter.
